ABOUT
"HEALTH COMES FROM ADDRESSING THE ROOT-CAUSE, NOT JUST THE SYMPTOM" - Dr. Geeta Arora
GEETA ARORA, MD ABIM ABIHM
Providing Personalized, Deep, Collabortive Healthcare That Takes the Time You Deserve
Dr. Geeta Arora is a dual board-certified physician (medical doctor) in internal medicine and integrative holistic medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Albany Medical Center in 2011, followed by a fellowship in integrative holistic medicine. With over a decade of experience in hospital-based acute and intensive care, she has treated patients with complex medical conditions, multi-organ failure, and metabolic disease.
While working in hospitals, she also ran a small integrative medicine practice in New York City, focusing on treating patients as whole beings rather than just a set of symptoms. She has since transitioned fully into her private integrative medicine practice in Cold Spring, NY, where she provides unrushed, comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
A Slow Medicine Approach: Time, Connection, and Collaboration
The modern healthcare system often feels fast, fragmented, and impersonal—with doctors rushing through 7–15 minute visits and patients feeling unheard. Dr. Arora believes in a different kind of care.
She practices Slow Medicine, which means:
✔ 90-minute initial consultations to deeply understand your health history, concerns, and goals.
✔ Unrushed follow-ups to create a truly personalized health plan.
✔ Home visits for those who need care in a familiar, comfortable setting.
✔ Collaboration with specialists to simplify and streamline your healthcare.
Her approach ensures no aspect of your health is overlooked, helping you navigate complex medical decisions with clarity, confidence, and expert guidance.

FAQs
What is Integrative Medicine?
Integrative Medicine is a patient-centered, personalized approach that combines conventional medical treatments with evidence-based complementary therapies to support the whole person—physically, mentally and emotionally. It focuses on addressing the root cause of illness rather than just managing symptoms, using a combination of nutrition, lifestyle changes, advanced diagnostics, supplements, movement and holistic therapies to optimize well-being.
How is this different from seeing a conventional doctor?
Dr. Arora is a conventionally trained physician with a background in internal medicine and integrative medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency at Albany Medical Center and a fellowship in Integrative Medicine, earning dual board certifications in both fields.
With over a decade of experience in hospitals across the country and the world- in acute care and intensive care—Dr. Arora deeply understands where conventional medicine excels, particularly in urgent and critical care settings. However, through her integrative medicine training, she discovered a broader approach to healing: one that emphasizes preventing, slowing, and even reversing chronic disease through nutrition, movement, mindfulness-based stress reduction, herbal medicine, and targeted supplementation.
Dr. Arora’s expertise allows her to blend the best of both worlds. She understands which supplements are safe with prescription medications, which diagnostic tests are essential for ruling out serious conditions, which nutrition plans support healing, and which complementary therapies have strong scientific backing.
After opening and leading an intensive care unit in one of the hardest-hit hospitals in New York City during the pandemic, Dr. Arora decided to devote her time to outpatient integrative medicine. She enjoys working closely with her patients providing unrushed, deeply personalized care that goes beyond the limitations of a conventional doctor’s visit.
Do I still need a primary care provider?
Yes, unless you are enrolled in Dr. Arora's concierge primary care plan, you will need a primary care physician (PCP) for annual physical exams, routine screenings, and sick visits. Your PCP plays a vital role in your overall healthcare, providing essential preventive care and managing acute medical needs.
As part of a collaborative approach to your well-being, Dr. Arora will share your integrative medicine treatment plan with your primary care physician after your initial consultation, ensuring continuity of care and a comprehensive, team-based approach to your health.
I’ve already had a lot of testing. Can you review my past medical records at my visit?
Yes, Dr. Arora will go through your entire medical record prior to your consultation.
Can I be seen for telehealth?
Yes. Dr. Arora is licensed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California.
Do you accept insurance?
No. We do not accept insurance and we have opted out of Medicare. We will provide you with a superbill, you may be able to get reimbursed by your insurance company.
Can I pay for your services through HSA/FSA?
Most patients can use HSA/FSA for lab testing, medical consultations, and certain treatments—check with your provider.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Dr. Arora is committed to providing deeply personalized, patient-centered care. She believes in taking the time to truly understand each patient’s unique health journey, tailoring treatment plans, and ordering tests based on individual needs rather than insurance restrictions. Unfortunately, the traditional insurance model does not support this level of comprehensive, unrushed care. By working outside the constraints of insurance, Dr. Arora can focus entirely on what is best for her patients—without compromise.
